Our Approach
Using the Law as a Tool for Change
Strategic litigation is one of the most powerful levers for systemic change. When communities face entrenched inequities that cannot be addressed through advocacy or grantmaking alone, the courts offer a path to durable, enforceable rights.
The Foundation partners with public interest law organizations, legal aid societies, and civil rights litigators to fund and support cases with broad precedential impact — cases that, when won, change the rules for thousands or millions of people.
Civil Rights
Supporting litigation that enforces constitutional protections and anti-discrimination law in housing, education, and employment.
Health Justice
Funding cases that challenge unlawful denials of care, Medicaid access barriers, and environmental health violations.
Economic Justice
Backing litigation that protects workers, challenges predatory lending, and defends community land rights.
Voting Rights
Supporting legal challenges to voter suppression laws and redistricting schemes that dilute minority voting power.

Cases We Have Supported
Funding ALEF - The American Lebanon Education Foundation https://www.usalef.org/ is launching a new project in New York: the ALEF Youth Sovereignty Academy. The goal is simple. Give Lebanese American youth and the broader NYC community the knowledge and leadership skills they need to stand for a free and sovereign Lebanon. That means workshops, digital learning modules, and practical civic education grounded in transparency, rule of law, and merit. We are raising $35,000 on Crowdfunder to launch the first cohort. Crowdfunder as you know is fee-free, so every dollar goes to the program. What Your Support Makes Possible....With $35,000 we will: • Develop a complete, values-based curriculum and digital learning modules • Host 6 to 8 high-quality workshops and community events in New York City • Produce professional educational video content accessible to the global Lebanese diaspora • Provide materials, certificates, and modest support for participating youth • Measure impact and publicly report results with full transparency Why This Matters Now Lebanon stands at a crossroads. The Diaspora is one of its greatest remaining assets. Educated, organized, and values-driven young leaders in cities like New York can help shape a different future: one based on sovereignty instead of domination, transparency instead of corruption, and merit instead of sectarian allegiance. https://www.usalef.org/
